Children's Programs

The Hilarious Stig Wemyss

Side-splitting comedy videos from the narrator of the 13 Storey Treehouse. 
 
Stig covers all the important topics: families, pets, teachers… and TOILETS!
 

Daily at 11am from Monday 20 September

Zoo Party with Carp Productions

Come along for a trip to the zoo! We’ll meet a big tiger and a sweet orangutan, too. Help cheer up the kangaroos who are feeling grumpy, slither with the lizards but watch out for the cheeky monkeys!
 
Available to view from 10am Monday 20 September (repeated on Tuesday 28 September)

Take Home Kits – Snow Dome and Whoopee Cushion

We have 2 take home kits available for kids under the age of 9 to make at home.

Snow dome (3-4 years) and whoopee cushion (5-8 years)

One kit per child, while stocks last.

 

There are 2 ways to request a kit:

(1) Click and collect: If you live within 5 kms of your library branch, call to book a time to Click and Collect some books and ask for a school holiday kit to be added to your order.

(2) Hume Libraries Express: If you live within Hume, call to book a Hume Libraries Express delivery of books/DVDs and ask for a school holiday kit to be added to your delivery.

Kits will be available to request from 10am on Monday 20 September. Please don’t call to request before then.

  

 

Youth Programs

The Perilous Quest presented by 100 Story Building (10-15 years)

Thursday 23 September 1.30-3.30pm

A fun workshop presented by 100 Story Building. In Perilous Quest you will create a hero, make a map, and set off on the ultimate adventure. To survive, you’ll need your imagination and some clever objects in your Hero’s Backpack! Each attendee will create a comic book, which can be developed into a detailed story.

Eventbrite bookings essential. Link to workshop emailed 24 hours before the session.

Zine

Calling all creators: The Hume Libraries Lockdown Zine is back in 2021! Young people aged 12 – 25 are invited to submit any creative work you’ve made in the last 12 months for your chance to be published in the 2021 edition of our zine. Short stories, poetry, photography, puzzles, paintings, collages, digital art – all accepted. The sky’s the limit!

 

Submissions open on Monday 20th September and close on Friday 31st October.

We have a trapeze sloth take home kit for children 9 and older.
