Can't find what you want?

Hume Libraries welcomes requests for items that we don’t hold. Before requesting an item, please check the catalogue to make sure we don’t already have the item, or have it on order.

We will consider purchasing items that are available in Australia at a reasonable cost, are suitable for a public library collection, and would be expected to generate multiple loans.

If we purchase a requested item, a record will appear in our catalogue. This process may take several weeks. You will then be able to request the item by logging in to our catalogue or through the Hume Libraries app on your smartphone.

We are often able to source digital copies of books and audiobooks that may not be available or suitable for our physical collection.

If we are unable to purchase your suggestion, we may be able to source it from another library service through the Inter-Library Loan (ILL) service. We do not charge for this service but there may be charges from the supplying library.
