Computers and Internet

We offer free computer training programs at Hume Libraries and our learning centres. These programs are designed to equip you with the basic skills to get you started using computers, computer applications and the internet.
All classes are run at various locations in Hume City and are conducted by trained volunteers.

Computer Club

Computer Club is for all young students aged 7 - 17 years, with any level of computer experience. You can learn how to use:

  • Microsoft Office Applications
  • The internet
  • Movie Maker

You can also use this time to complete homework or work your own project. A tutor will be present at all times to help you. Classes are held at the Hume Global Learning Centre, on Tuesdays and Thursdays 4.30 - 6.30pm, during school terms.

Encourage your child to use mobile devices in this fun, digitally interactive learning activity. Each week a different theme will be explored, using the library’s iPads.
Suitable for children aged between two to five years. The sessions run at The Age Library every Tuesday from 1.15–2pm.

Learn the basics of email and the internet in introductory sessions for adults. Sessions can be for individuals or groups.

Learn how to search and find information on the internet, email, social media networking and overall help with the latest technology devices.
Bookings required. Sessions are run for small groups at The Age Library on the last Wednesday of each month, 10am – 1pm
