Membership & Borrowing

Join the library

While Hume Libraries are temporarily closed due to the coronavirus situation, the best way to sign up for a Hume Libraries membership is online

The health and wellbeing of the Hume community is our top priority. These temporary closures will assist our community in social distancing and will help delay the spread of coronavirus.

Signing up online will give you full access to our digital resources. Join online here

Your library card

When the libraries reopen, you will need to provide identification showing your name and current address to collect your library card. Your library card allows you to borrow items from any Hume Libraries branch and use our computers.

Please notify the library immediately if your membership card is lost or stolen.

Borrowing

All items can be borrowed for three weeks.

You can also request items from other branches or materials that are currently on loan.

Renew your items

You can renew your items, as long as no one else has reserved them, online or by contacting any Hume Libraries branch.

Lost or damaged items will result in a charge. View the list of fees, charges and terms of use.
