Summer Reading Challenge 2019-20 – 40 Days in 40 Ways

These summer holidays take part in the Summer Reading Challenge – 40 Days in 40 Ways, open to young people aged between 0 – 17 years. The reading challenge is a great way to keep children reading over the summer holidays and the chance to win great prizes. 

To get started, visit your local Hume Libraries branch to collect your Summer Reading Pledge Form and Challenge Sheet and remember to return your Summer Reading Pledge Form by 31 January 2020. 

Terms and Conditions

  1. The Summer Reading Challenge (SRC) competition opens on 1 December 2019 9:00am until 31 January 2020 at 5pm.
  2. The promoter of this competition is Hume City Council (Council)
  3. The competition is open to children aged between 0 and 17 years of age who live in the Municipality of Hume City Council, or are a Hume Library member.
  4. There are six prize draws, with a total prize pool value of $210.00
  5. All prize winners will be notified by 14 February 2020. Late, illegible or blank entries will not be considered.
  6. To be eligible, each entrant must complete Summer Reading Club Pledge, this is your entry form.
  7. Entries are to be handed in person to a Librarian at any Hume Libraries branch.
  8. All completed entries must be submitted prior to closing time will be considered. Winners will be drawn at random from all entries that have completed all four challenges.
  9. The provision of Parent/guardian signatures on the SRC Pledge/entry indicates they give permission entry and accept these Terms and Conditions.
  10. Limit of one entry per child.
  11. Entries will not be returned
  12. Prizes cannot be substituted for cash, transferred or otherwise exchanged. Once awarded, prizes become the property and responsibility of the respective winners. Council’s decision is final and no further correspondence will be entered into.
  13. Every effort is made to notify participants they are prize winners, however if a winner cannot be contacted within two weeks of the draw, Council reserves the right to re-draw winner(s).

This information will be used solely for this purpose and will not be disclosed to any other party except as required by law.
