Sunbury Library is still open and operating from its temporary home at the ‘Sunbury Youth and Library Services’ at 51-53 Evans Street Sunbury as works continue on the $19 million Hume Global Learning Centre project in Sunbury (HGLC-S).

Hume Mayor, Councillor Geoff Porter, said the full Sunbury Library catalogue would still be available both at the library’s new temporary home and online or via the new Hume Libraries app throughout the 18 month relocation.

“Construction of the HGLC-S is an exciting prospect for the Hume community but we also know that residents want to be able to access Council services with as little interruption as possible,” Cr Porter said.

“The Sunbury Youth and Library Services facility ensures all residents are still able to access library services until construction of the HGLC-S is complete.

“If Victoria is the Education State then I want to see Hume become the education precinct.

“The HGLC-S is a significant step in this direction, bringing world-class learning and community facilities to Sunbury.

“Upon completion, the HGLC-S will be an active, vibrant and welcoming community hub, and will be an inspiring place to meet, share, learn, create and collaborate in an ever-changing digital world.

“Hume City Council is exceptionally proud to be delivering the new Hume Global Learning Centre in partnership with the Victorian Government.”
