We're back!


Hume Libraries is back to normal operating hours!  

Our operating hours at Broadmeadows, Craigieburn, Sunbury, Tullamarine and Gladstone Park Community Libraries will be back to normal from Friday 11 June including extended evening and weekends! Please note the Hume Book Mobile is still closed until further notice. 

What to expect when you visit us: 

  • Mask up
    A face-mask is currently compulsory indoors
  • Say hello
    We will have a concierge at the entrance to the building. They will ask you what the purpose of your visit is and help direct you.
  • Sign in
    You will need to sign in to visit the library. There will be a poster with a QR code that you can scan to sign in. If you don’t have a smartphone, someone will assist you to sign in.

  • Sanitise
    You will be required to sanitise your hands upon entry to the library and as you leave. 

  • Social distance
    Please adhere to social distancing guidelines while in the library. 

What you can do in our libraries:

  • browse and borrow
  • access a PC (limited number of PCs available)
  • printing and copying (assisted by staff and EFTPOS only)
  • access wi-fi
  • access the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) – available on dedicated PCs
  • return your items through the outside return chutes (there are no late fines for items returned after their due date). 

What you can’t do in our libraries: 

  • book a study room
  • gather in groups
  • eat or drink (please don’t bring food and beverages into the library)
  • make any cash purchases
  • attend a program (all our programs will continue online for the moment). 

Our staff are tickled pink to see you again! Look for our pink badges and t-shirts if you need assistance.
