Refurbishment works are currently taking place on the ground floor of the Hume Global Learning Centre – Broadmeadows (HGLC-B).

These works are part of the HGLC-B refurbishment project which involves creating a new Council Chamber and community spaces including:

  • Community lounge and study area with a tea/coffee station
  • Bookable meeting rooms for community events, meetings and training
  • A new cafe

New flooring will be completed over two stages to enable Broadmeadows Library to remain open during the works. There may be noise and odours as a result of this, and there will be changes to access, as outlined below.

Stage one: Saturday 20 April to Friday 26 April

  • Broadmeadows Library will be accessible via the stairs only. Follow the on-site signage to enter the library.
  • The lift to the library will be temporarily closed.
  • The after-hours returns chute at Broadmeadows Library will be available.

Stage two: Saturday 27 April to Friday 10 May

  • Broadmeadows Library will be accessible via the lift only. Access via the stairs will be temporarily closed. Follow the on-site signage to enter the library.
  • The after-hours returns chute at Broadmeadows Library will be temporarily closed during stage two. No library loans for Broadmeadows Library will be due during this period. Alternatively, after-hours returns chutes are also available at Craigieburn, Sunbury and Tullamarine libraries.
